What you need to know before & after your procedure

  • As we age our body experiences loss of bone, facial fatty pads, and tissues resulting in loss of facial volume, sagging skin & wrinkles.

  • Hyaluronic Acid Fillers are used to add volume, structure & soften wrinkles.

  • Longevity of the results depend on the Juvaderm products used.  Most last 6 months to 1 year.  Juvaderm Voluma can last up to 2 years.

  • Hyaluronic Acid fillers can be dissolved by the NP if needed.

  • To reduce the risk of bleeding and bruising avoid the following for 2 days prior to treatments: Alcoholic Beverages, Anti-inflammatories, Aspirin, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Bilba.

  • Side effects associated with injections include localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, bleeding, & bruising.

  • Risks, although rare include: vascular occlusion & nodules.

  • If you have a history of cold sores please notify the NP for possible pre-treatment medication prior to your injection.

  • Application of ice pack to the injection area after treatment may reduce bruising and swelling.  You may ice area for 1 to 2 days if needed.

  • Do not apply ice more than 10 minutes at a time.

  • Do not rub or massage the treatment area unless instructed to do so.  You may feel lumps- if lips are treated allow 4-6 weeks, if cheeks allow 2-3 weeks-the lumps will soften.

  • Avoid makeup over the treated area, drinking alcohol and strenuous exercise for a minimum of 24 hours.

  • We recommend you wait a minimum of one week before receiving any facial treatments involving chemicals for 1 week.

  • Avoid laser treatments for 1 months.
